'D K Bose' is a funny song; nothing offensive in it: Kiran Rao

Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao defends the ‘Delhi Belly’ song ‘Bhaag D K Bose’

Just chillax! That’s what Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao seems to be saying to those who feel offended by the song ‘D K Bose’ which has become a youth anthem nowadays.

At the launch of the new song “Switty Tera Pyaar”, Kiran Rao took the questions from reporters and said that there’s nothing objectionable about the title ‘D K Bose’.

“The song's name is D K Bose and the character they are talking about is D K Bose. I don't see any problem with it really. What's wrong with the lyrics? ‘D K Bose’ is a name just like ‘Sheila’ and ‘Munni’,” Kiran told reporters at the event.

Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha had recently panned the song ‘D K Bose’, calling it vulgar. Sinha had said that he won’t let his children listen to the song.

When asked to respond to Sinha’s allegation, Kiran Rao said: “I haven't heard the comment myself so I cannot comment. If someone has an issue with it...it is there opinion. But I feel if he did not like it he has a right to his opinion he should not hear the song.”

Kiran Rao added that the song is actually a funny take on life. People, in her opinion, should not be so uptight about the lyrics.

“The song is a funny take on life. It is about this loser who says ‘meri kismet kadki hai’ (I'm not lucky enough).I think it is really funny song. We did not intend anything other than a loser whining about everything around him,” Rao said.

Delhi Belly stars Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapur. It will hit the theatres on July 1.

Questions on Salman Khan are boring: Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan tired of answering questions on his equation with Salman Khan.

Shahrukh Khan is always considerate while dealing with the media. No matter how touchy the questions, he answers them with a dimpled smile and his typical humour.

At the recent launch of Kanika Dhillon’s book Bombay Duck Is A Fish Shahrukh Khan was asked a question regarding his equation with Salman Khan, his former friend who turned into a foe after an ugly spat in 2008.

“Questions on Salman and I are getting too boring and I don't think anyone wants to even read it,” Shahrukh said.

He sounded a tad peeved by the question and later when the reporter asked the question again, Shahrukh joked: “I may break into a fight with you.”

Shahrukh also clarified his recent comment in which he said that G in the character G.One (in his film Ra.One) stands for Gauri and ‘One’ for his position in the film industry. When asked if he really thought that he was number one in Bollywood, Shahrukh said: “I did say I play G.One in Ra.one as G stands for Gauri and One for me but it was all said in good humour. No one has to then think if I do consider myself number one! Having said that I have worked hard for 20 years and I need people to be responsible before asking such questions.”

Perhaps it’s about time the media began to separate Shahrukh’s humour from his serious comments.







Aamir Khan is number one, not me: Salman Khan!

Salman believes his friend Aamir is the numero uno in Bollywood

Salman Khan has always said he is never into the number race, and in a recent press conference he clearly mentioned that Aamir Khan, his friend, is the number one hero in Bollywood.

However, it can be recalled that recently Shahrukh Khan claimed that he is in the numero uno position. At the launch of the first trailer of Ra.One when a reporter asked Shahrukh, why the name of his character is called G.One and not Jeevan, the King Khan answered casually, “G is for my wife Gauri and One is my position in the industry.” Later he explained that the name G.One is coined to sound like Jeevan, as his superhero character saves lives in the film.

Now as Ready is on its ways to become a superhit, once again the industry acknowledges Salman Khan’s star power at the box office. No doubt, for his fans he is on top, but Salman hasn’t gone on record to make that boast.

So, naturally after Shahrukh Khan’s comment, and Ready being a hit, reporters were keen to ask Salman what he has to say about Shahrukh’s claim of being number one?

When Salman attended the press meet of Chillar Party, he was asked the same question. To which Salman only had to say that Aamir Khan is ‘number one’.

Saif-Kareena relationship on the rocks!

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s four-year-old relationship hits a bump. Will they split or sort things out?

The long-lasted romantic idyll between Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor has now been riven by work pressure, time constraints, and a few financial issues as well, we hear.

The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that the romance between Saif and Kareena is going dry and the couple has been fighting more often than not. Many reasons are being ascribed to this fizzle-out. For one, it’s been speculated that Saif is peeved with Kareena for not sparing enough time for him.

Kareena has lately been busy with a number of projects and her date dairy for this year is chock-a-block. She’s been busy with Ra.One with Shahrukh Khan, Bodyguard with Salman Khan and Reema Kagti’s untitled film with Aamir Khan. Add to this the number of television commercials she has had to shoot and you can see why Kareena hasn’t been able to take out time for her man.

On the other hand, Saif is already unhappy over the delays in his home production Agent Vinod. On top of it, he’s been going through a financial crunch and has already axed down the film’s budget.

Rumours also suggest that Saif is not happy about having to splurge money on the holidays of Kareena’s family.

In fact, reports say that Kareena broke down while having a serious talk with Saif on the phone while she was on the sets of her film Bodyguard. Realizing that the relationship was on the rocks, Kareena dashed off to London not just for her Madame Tussauds wax statue (to be unveiled later this year) but also to appease Saif who’s shooting for Agent Vinod in London.
